Hari ini, Kamis sore (18\/9\/2025), saat berada di Hotspot Center dalam Lingkungan Ponpes Modern Putri IMMIM Minasatene-Pangkep, sepulangnya dari mengisi materi Bimtek Kepenulisan Konten Budaya Lokal di Perpustakaan Daerah Pangkep, penulis menyempatkan mengikuti 6 Free Courses \u201cNature & Environment\u201d di situs OpenLearn, the Open University yang berpusat di Inggris, dengan kampus utama di Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, Inggris (United Kingdom).<\/p>\n

Keenam Kursus pada Menu \u201cNature & Environment\u201d OpenLearn The Open University ini sudah lama penulis akrabi materi dan sebenarnya merupakan pengulangan (muraja\u2019ah) materi pembelajaran tentang Alam dan Lingkungan. Keenam Kursus yang penulis ikuti ini bersifat Free (gratis) di situs OpenLearn, termasuk sertifikat tanda penyelesaian kursus yang disebut \u201cStatement of Participation\u201d.<\/p>\n

In this free course, Evolution through natural selection, we describe the theory of evolution by natural selection as proposed by Charles Darwin in his book, first published in 1859, On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or The Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life. We will look at natural selection as Darwin did, taking inheritance for granted, but ignoring the mechanisms underlying it.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Effects of pollutants on the aquatic environment is a free course. It begins with an introduction to water and goes on to briefly outline the major sources of water pollution (these being sewage works, manufacturing and industrial plants, the farming and animal husbandry sectors, landfill sites and urban surface water run-off). It considers the major water pollutants and describes the effects they have on water.<\/p>\n
