BLOGGURU – This Hadith about Charity
It was narrated from ‘Umar bin Khattab (Radi Allahu Anhu) that: the Messenger of Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala),(Sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Do not take back your charity.”
(Reference : Sunan Ibn Majah 2390, In-book reference : Book 15, Hadith 1, English translation : Vol. 3, Book 15, Hadith 2390).
Sometimes we give and then feel the pang of giving. At other times, we give but then sin and have our hasanat taken from us, because we’ve acted in a way that has undone the good we did. Don’t let the end of Ramadan mean you return to old bad habits, becoming like the person who knits a sweater for a month then slowly unravels each thread in the time after. Remember that what you give with good intentions earns its rewards, so trust in Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) and give with an open heart, especially in this blessed month. Ramadan has simply flown by this year. It’s sad that our friend is leaving but let’s pray we are all able to witness Ramadan for next year and be given another opportunity to earn good deeds. Ameen!
