BLOGGURU – This Hadith about Ramadan
Abu Huraira (Radi Allahu Anhu) reported: The Messenger of Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala),(Sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said, Islam is to worship Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) without associating a partner with Him, to establish prayer, to give charity, to fast the month of Ramadan, to perform pilgrimage to the House, to enjoin good and forbid evil, and to greet your people with peace. Whoever neglects anything from them has abandoned a part of Islam, and whoever neglects all of them has thrown Islam behind his back. (Source: Shu’ab al-Imān 8297).
Ibn Abbas ( Radi Allahu Anhu) said, The Messenger of Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala),(Sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) was the most generous of people and he was even more generous in Ramadan when Gabriel (jibra’eel Alaihis salaam) would meet him. He would meet him every night of Ramadhan to study the Quran. Thus, the Prophet (Sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) would be more generous than a nourishing wind. (Source: Sahih al-Bukhari 1902, Grade: Muttafaqun Alayhi (authenticity agreed upon) according to Al-Bukhari and Muslim).
Al-Nawawi said, “Our scholars said that being generous and performing favors are highly recommended during ramadhan, specifically during the last ten nights. By doing so, we emulate the example of the Prophet (Sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) as well as our predecessors. This month is honored and good deeds performed in this month are more blessed than they are at any other time.”

Ramadan has arrived, Did you know every single good deed in this month is multiplied so try to increase your good deeds, sadaqa and charity in this month and look for opportunities to do more. It’s a time to reflect, say Alhamdulillah for all our blessings and truly show gratitude in this blessed month to our Creator Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) for all we have. Spend the next month wisely. Read the Quran daily, even if it’s just a page or two, pray for others and strive for goodness. Try and read 20 pages a day and you’ll finish the Qur’an in this month. Everything you do will come back to you.
You could also keep your tongue moist with Prayers of Zikr. Often people who are fasting can’t help themselves backbiting, gossiping, glandering and talking in vain Zikr, or prayers recited over and over again in the remembrance of Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) is often thought to be part of the Sufi Islamic tradition, when in fact it is an integral part of all Muslims’ lives and especially important during ramadan. A great way to connect with Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) while doing all the mundane chores of daily life (driving, waiting in line, preparing the evening meal), is to recite over and over these short phrases:
Subhan’allah, an expression used by Muslims to express strong feelings of joy or relief and recalls how everything Muslims have is thanks to Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala).
Alhamdulillah, or “Praise be to Allah!”(Subhanahu wa ta’ala) (It is a Qur’anic exclamation with a similar meaning as hallelujah.)
Astaghfirullah, which means “I seek forgiveness from Allah.”(Subhanahu wa ta’ala).
Allahu Akbar, or “Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) is the Greatest.”
May Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) accept our ibaadah and fasting.
Aameen.
