It was narrated that Abu Mas’ud Al-Ansari (Radiyallahu Anhu) said: “It was said to the Prophet (Sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam): We have been commanded to send salah and salams upon you. We know how to send salams, but how should we send salah?’ He said: Say:

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ

‘Alahumma salli ‘ala Muhammad wa ‘ala ali Muhammad, kama sallaita ‘ala Ibrahima wa barik ‘ala Muhammad kama barakta ‘ala ali Ibrahim fil-‘alamin, innaka hamidun majid

(O Allah, send salah upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent salah upon the family of Ibrahim).” (Grade:Sahih (Darussalam)

We should make time and encourage all our freinds and family to send blessings upon the beloved prophet Muhammad (Sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) during morning,evening and at night. The night prayer is at a most blessed time when the world is asleep and it’s just you and Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala). What an opportunity to connect and for Him to hear your prayers! (*)
