IMMIMPANGKEP – This Hadith is about Breaking the Fast
Narrated `Umar bin Al-Khattab (Radi Allahu Anhu): Allah’s (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) Messenger (peace be upon him) said, “When night falls from this side and the day vanishes from this side and the sun sets, then the fasting person should break his fast.”
(Reference : Sahih al-Bukhari 1954, In-book reference : Book 30, Hadith 61).
How many times have you been at work, on the train or at college or university and it’s time to break your fast? You check your watch and dash to break your fast and find time to pray. When it’s approaching the time to break your fast, pause and reflect. Thank Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala). You have the opportunity to welcome the time of Maghrib and witness the sun setting. As the sky changes colour and the Adhan is pronounced, enjoy every moment and pray for those who are afflicted by war, illness and hardship this Ramadan. May Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) have mercy upon them and on us all – Ameen! (*)
